Who Are We?

YWCA Girls* Group Mentoring Program

Girls* Group Mentoring (GGMP) is a program part of the Berkeley/Oakland YWCA, made up of student volunteers! The YWCA is a global organization that has been around since 1858, dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women. GGMP’s mission is to work with middle school girls* to provide a space that uplifts and empowers them through community advocacy and topics relevant to their life. In the past, we’ve set up weekly mentoring workshops, tackling community issues and building advocacy skills. This year, we’ve decided to create that space through our online magazine, Our Voice. This platform will showcase the artwork and writing of middle school girls across the Bay Area. Explore our website to view their latest work!
